Who stays here?

We have guests from all over the world who come and visit. Usually they have done a mainland safari or conquered Kilimanjaro and then come, kick back, relax and enjoy the 'home away from home' feel we like to give them.

What to do here?

When the tide is high, hit the sea for a swim, when the tide is low there is our infinity pool to enjoy. Sip cocktails, read a book and relax. Or we can arrange Stone Town tours, snorkelling and island lunch day trips, Spice farm tours, Jozani National Park where you will see the rare Colobus monkeys.... what every you would like to do we can set up an itinerary for you during your stay. There is a dive centre 300m down the beach, and let's not forget this is kite surfers paradise ... so you can be super active or just relax your days away!

Our Story

Driftwood Beach Lodge

Driftwood is a rustic little beach lodge in Zanzibar, situated on the south-east coast of the island. We’ve been offering our holidaymakers an authentic Zanzibar experience since October 2017. We’re just one hour’s drive from Stone Town, the iconic capital, but a world away from its hustle and bustle. This intimate Zanzibar beach lodge has all you need, whether you’re looking for relaxation or excitement. We’ve created a superb place to chill out, with our nine en-suite rooms and two seaview bungalows, just a few steps from the beach, our pool and our main bar and restaurant. The design of all our buildings reflects our approach to life: open and inviting. Makuti thatch umbrellas in our property provide the perfect spot to while away the day – and the bar is within earshot, so you can just call for that drink. Driftwood Beach Lodge is the antidote to the crazy pace of modern life. As the local people collect seaweed from the beach at low tide, or head out to sea in their traditional fishing boats, you might just get the feeling that they know something we don’t. Driftwood Beach Lodge is a great place to disconnect and reconnect with yourself, and the people who mean the most to you.
